With bursary places available on application, the MKT Young Company aims to offer young people the chance to experience life within a theatre company, further understand all the roles that work together on every production and offer support, guidance and advice for those wishing to pursue a career in the theatre industry.
Working with the MKTYC Director to stage a production from initial concept through to final curtain, young people can take on performing and/or offstage roles, with previous company members having designed lighting, sound, sets, costumes, wigs and programmes – working as a company to bring their concept to life.
Opportunities to interact with industry professionals will be provided throughout this 7-month project, offering further insight and the chance to learn from those working in roles young people may be interested in pursuing.
Weekly sessions will take place at Milton Keynes Theatre, 6pm – 8.30pm on Wednesday evenings.
