This immersive show takes audiences back to the defining years when Marillion rose to become one of the biggest rock bands in the world — a period that saw the release of Real to Reel, Misplaced Childhood, and Brief Encounter.

By the end of 1984, Marillion had conquered the UK, Europe and North America with the Fugazi tour. Demand for live recordings was so great that EMI released Real to Reel — a live mini-album capturing the energy and emotion of a band on the brink of global success.
That success exploded with Misplaced Childhood — a No.1 album featuring the timeless hits Kayleigh, Lavender and Heart of Lothian. The follow-up EP Brief Encounter marked the band’s growing international reach, featuring live recordings and fan favourites that defined Marillion’s classic era.
In “Brief Encounter,” Marquee Square Heroes will recreate the shows and atmosphere of this magical mid-80s period — performing music from Script from a Jester's Tear. Fugazi, Real to Reel, Misplaced Childhood and Brief Encounter in the spirit of Marillion’s original live sets. Expect the passion, precision and power that made this era of neo-progressive rock so unforgettable.
Join us for an evening of nostalgia, emotion and excellent musicianship — celebrating an era that continues to inspire fans across generations.
