Bizet’s Carmen is considered one of the most powerful operas ever written and its gorgeous melodies have a hold on the popular imagination – Escamillo’s Toreador Song, Carmen’s Habanera and Don José’s Flower Song are among the most widely known and enjoyed pieces of Western classical music.
This version of Carmen is set to Rodion Shchedrin's orchestration of Bizet's opera score with additional Cuban music.
Don't miss this electric interpretation of Carmen performed by Acosta's impressive Havana-based company.

Opera House Manchester

Originally The New Theatre, it opened on Boxing Day, 1912. It went through several iterations, being renamed once before becoming the Opera House in 1920. It's also been used for different functions; as a cinema in WW2, then a bingo hall before reopening as a theatre again in 1984. Since, it has hosted magnificent shows like Barnum and Phantom of the Opera.
